В 2021 году на Мальдивах насчитывалось примерно 16 300 взрослых, которые употребляют традиционные некурительные табачные изделия, что соответствует распространённости на уровне 3,8% среди взрослого населения. У женщин этот показатель был немного выше — 4,2% по сравнению с 3,4% у мужчин. О ежедневном употреблении сообщали 3,3% взрослых, включая 3,9% женщин и 2,8% мужчин. Традиционные некурительные табачные изделия на Мальдивах легальны и регулируются как табачная продукция. Соответственно, продажа и потребление этих изделий разрешены, однако онлайн-покупки запрещены. В стране действует запрет на любую рекламу табака, а также предусмотрено требование о наличии предупреждений о вреде для здоровья на упаковке. Минимальный возраст для продажи этих изделий составляет 18 лет.
