En 2016, se estimaba que 1,8 millones de personas consumían tabaco sin humo tradicional en Sudán. La prevalencia del consumo actual de tabaco sin humo tradicional entre adultos era del 7,9 por ciento. Entre los hombres adultos, la prevalencia era del 14,3 por ciento, mientras que entre las mujeres adultas era del 0,2 por ciento. La prevalencia del consumo diario de tabaco sin humo tradicional entre adultos era del 6,7 por ciento. El tabaco sin humo tradicional está permitido legalmente en Sudán y está regulado como producto de tabaco. Existe una prohibición total de la publicidad. Es legal venderlo y consumirlo. También se permite la compra en línea de tabaco sin humo tradicional. La legislación exige que los envases incluyan advertencias sanitarias y se aplica la restricción de edad mínima de 18 años para la venta de productos de tabaco sin humo.
