В 2016 году количество потребителей традиционных некурительных табачных изделий (ПНТ) в Судане оценивалось в 1,8 миллиона человек. Распространённость текущего потребления ПНТ среди взрослых составляла 7,9 процента. Среди взрослых мужчин этот показатель достигал 14,3 процента, а среди взрослых женщин — 0,2 процента. Доля ежедневных потребителей ПНТ среди взрослого населения составляла 6,7 процента, при этом среди мужчин — 12,3 процента, а среди женщин — 0,1 процента. Традиционные некурительные табачные изделия разрешены законом в Судане и регулируются как табачная продукция. Действует полный запрет на любую рекламу таких изделий. Продажа и потребление ПНТ легальны, также разрешена онлайн-покупка этих изделий. Закон требует размещать на упаковках предупреждения о вреде для здоровья, а для продажи некурительных табачных изделий установлен минимальный возрастной порог — 18 лет.
