Our Tobacco Harm Reduction (THR) Database is a daily updated, unique resource for anyone interested in how safer nicotine products are being used around the world.

Tobacco harm reduction offers people who use high-risk tobacco products, like cigarettes and some oral tobaccos, the chance to switch to safer products that pose significantly fewer risks to their health. These products include nicotine vapes (e-cigarettes), snus and heated tobacco products.

Using the THR Database, you can access the latest data on the use and availability of, and regulations that apply to, the main safer nicotine product categories - nicotine vaping (e-cigarettes), snus and heated tobacco products - in 200 countries and regions.

In addition, the THR Database provides data about the availability of nicotine replacement therapies. For context on the scale of the ongoing public health crisis caused by the use of combustible tobacco, information about the prevalence of smoking and smoking-related deaths in each country is provided.
