Smoking is legal in Niue with certain restrictions and is regulated as a tobacco product. Cigarettes can be legally sold, including through vending machines and online, though sales are subject to restrictions. The minimum legal age for cigarette sales is 21 years. Cigarette products are marketed in Niue, but all its advertising is banned. Additionally, health warnings on cigarette packaging are required and the import of cigarettes for trade is allowed with import license.
In 2021, smoking accounted for 11.47% of all deaths, with 16.69% of male deaths and 5.89% of female deaths attributed to smoking.
