В Нигерии в 2018 году примерно 2,0 миллиона взрослых, что составляет 1,9% взрослого населения, употребляли традиционные бездымные табачные изделия. Среди них 2,9% мужчин использовали бездымный табак по сравнению с 0,9% женщин. Что касается ежедневного употребления, 1,4% взрослых сообщили о ежедневном потреблении — из них 2,2% среди мужчин и 0,6% среди женщин. В соответствии с законодательством Нигерии традиционные бездымные табачные изделия разрешены и регулируются как табачная продукция. Их продажа и употребление разрешены, однако приобретение через Интернет запрещено. Также действуют требования к упаковке: необходимо размещать предупреждения о вреде для здоровья, чтобы информировать потребителей о рисках. Дополнительно предусмотрено возрастное ограничение — продажа разрешена только тем, кто достиг 18 лет.
