Nigeria Background

En Nigeria, aproximadamente 2.0 millones de adultos, es decir, el 1.9% de la población adulta, eran usuarios actuales de tabaco tradicional sin humo en 2018. De estos, el 2.9% de los hombres consumía tabaco sin humo, en comparación con el 0.9% de las mujeres. En cuanto al consumo diario, el 1.4% de los adultos reportó consumirlo cada día, desglosado en un 2.2% de los hombres y un 0.6% de las mujeres. Según la legislación nigeriana, el tabaco tradicional sin humo está permitido y se regula como un producto de tabaco. Su venta y consumo son legales, aunque las compras en línea están prohibidas. Además, existen regulaciones sobre el empaque, que exigen advertencias sanitarias para informar a los consumidores sobre los riesgos. También se establece una edad mínima de 18 años para la venta.
