В Армении, согласно оценкам Всемирной организации здравоохранения, распространённость употребления табака среди взрослого населения в возрасте 15 лет и старше составляла 24,3% в 2022 году. В частности, среди мужчин данный показатель был значительно выше — 51,7%, тогда как среди женщин он был существенно ниже и составлял всего 1,9%. Общее число людей, которые курят, в 2024 году составляло примерно 579 000 человек. Это представляет собой увеличение по сравнению с 2020 годом, когда распространённость курения среди взрослых составляла 24%, а число взрослых, которые курят, насчитывало 554 413 человек. Однако нынешняя распространённость выросла по сравнению с 22,5% в 2022 году. Для сравнения, ежедневное употребление табака среди взрослых в 2017 году составляло 21,6%, при этом среди мужчин — 46,4%, а среди женщин — 1,2%. Данные о смертности, связанной с курением, за 2021 год свидетельствуют о том, что курение стало причиной 16,22% всех случаев смерти в стране, что эквивалентно 5 083 случаям. Из этого числа 4 337 смертей были среди мужчин и 746 — среди женщин, что составляет 26,28% смертей среди мужчин и 5,03% — среди женщин. Эти данные подчёркивают серьёзность проблемы общественного здравоохранения, связанной с употреблением табака в Армении, особенно среди мужского населения.
