W Armenii według szacunków Światowej Organizacji Zdrowia w 2022 roku rozpowszechnienie palenia tytoniu wśród osób dorosłych w wieku 15 lat i więcej wynosiło 22,5%. W szczególności odsetek palących mężczyzn był znacznie wyższy i wynosił 49,3%, podczas gdy wśród kobiet był istotnie niższy i wynosił 1,7%. Ogólna liczba palaczy w 2022 roku wyniosła około 521 658 osób. Oznacza to spadek w porównaniu do 2020 roku, kiedy rozpowszechnienie palenia wyniosło 24%, a liczba palaczy – 554 413. Dla porównania, w 2017 roku odsetek dorosłych palących codziennie wynosił 21,6%, przy czym wśród mężczyzn było to 46,4%, a wśród kobiet 1,2%. Dane dotyczące śmiertelności związanej z paleniem tytoniu z 2021 roku wskazują, że palenie przyczyniło się do 16,22% wszystkich zgonów w kraju, co odpowiada łącznie 5 083 zgonom. Wśród nich 4 337 stanowili mężczyźni, a 746 kobiety, co odpowiada 26,28% zgonów wśród mężczyzn i 5,03% zgonów wśród kobiet. Dane te podkreślają poważne wyzwanie zdrowotne, jakie w Armenii stanowi palenie tytoniu, zwłaszcza wśród mężczyzn.
