Despite these controls, the adult current smoking prevalence was reported to be 24.2% in the Marshal Islands in 2024, with a higher rate among males (43.4%) compared to females (4%). The total number of current smokers in the country was estimated to be 6,000 individuals in 2024. Smoking-related mortality accounted for 58 deaths in 2021, representing 13.01% of all deaths in the country, with a greater impact on males (17.27%) than females (7.42%).
