Smoking is legally permitted in Dominica with certain restrictions. Cigarettes can be sold and purchased legally, including online and through vending machines. The import of cigarettes for trade is allowed with an import license. There is no minimum age restriction for cigarette sales and health warnings on cigarette packaging are not required. Cigarettes are subject to a total taxation rate of 26.13% incluidng a specific rate of 6.68%.

The total number of current smokers in Dominica was estimated to be 7,000 individuals in 2024. In 2021, 32 deaths in Dominica were attributable to smoking. Of these, 24 were male deaths, and 7 were female deaths. This shows that smoking accounted for 4.12% of all deaths in the country in 2021, including 5.94% of male deaths and 2.07% of female deaths.
