E-cigarettes are legal with certain regulations in Canada. They are legal to sell, use, and purchase online, and health claims are permitted. E-cigarettes are available in general retail outlets, and they are subject to excise taxes greater than 50%, or an amount equivalent to those levied on traditional cigarettes. According to data from 2021, there were approximately 1.6 million current vapers in Canada in that year, representing an adult current e-cigarette vaping prevalence of 5%. The prevalence was higher among men (6%) compared to women (4%). The adult daily e-cigarette vaping prevalence was 3% overall in 2021, with 2% among females and 3% among males.
