E-papierosy są legalne w Kanadzie, jednak obowiązują w ich przypadku określone regulacje. Można je sprzedawać, używać oraz kupować przez internet, a także dopuszczone jest stosowanie przekazów dotyczących zdrowia. E-papierosy są dostępne w ogólnodostępnych punktach sprzedaży detalicznej i podlegają podatkowi akcyzowemu w wysokości przekraczającej 50% lub równoważnemu temu, jaki nakłada się na tradycyjne papierosy. Według danych z 2021 roku w Kanadzie było około 1,6 miliona osób aktualnie korzystających z e-papierosów, co odpowiada dorosłej populacji o wskaźniku używania e-papierosów na poziomie 5%. Częstość używania była wyższa wśród mężczyzn (6%) w porównaniu z kobietami (4%). W 2021 roku odsetek dorosłych używających e-papierosów codziennie wynosił ogółem 3%, przy czym wśród kobiet było to 2%, a wśród mężczyzn 3%.
