As of June 30, 2023, the number of current users of Nicotine Vaping Devices, commonly referred to as E-cigarettes, in Poland, reached approximately 1,264,995 individuals. This represents a significant increase from previous data recorded on February 12, 2021, which indicated 360,893 users. The prevalence of adult daily use was recorded at 2.4%, with the overall adult current use at 4.0%. These figures are part of the regulatory framework established in Poland, which allows for the legal sale of e-cigarette devices and nicotine, with sales restricted to individuals over 18 years of age. Advertising and promotional activities for these products are regulated, prohibiting sponsorship of sporting, cultural, and educational events. Health warnings are mandated on the packaging, and the products are regulated as tobacco products. Restrictions on nicotine content are also in place, aligning with Poland's efforts to control the distribution and usage of e-cigarettes. Additionally, perceptions of harm related to e-cigarette use show a diverse public opinion, with 56% considering them harmful or more harmful than traditional cigarettes, 28% perceiving them as not harmful or less harmful, and 16% uncertain. This regulatory and statistical landscape underscores the ongoing monitoring and adaptation of policies to address the dynamics of nicotine consumption in Poland.
