По состоянию на 2019 год в Непале насчитывалось примерно 3,6 миллиона взрослых, которые употребляют традиционные бездымные табачные изделия, при общем уровне распространённости среди взрослого населения 18,3%. Уровень употребления среди мужчин составлял 33,3%, тогда как среди женщин — 4,9%. Ежедневное употребление традиционных бездымных табачных изделий отмечалось у 15,3% взрослых, в том числе у 28,2% мужчин и 3,8% женщин. Традиционные бездымные табачные изделия легальны в Непале и регулируются как табачная продукция. Разрешена продажа и использование этих изделий, включая онлайн-покупки. В Непале действует запрет на все формы рекламы табака и предусмотрено размещение предупреждений о вреде для здоровья на упаковке. Минимальный возраст для приобретения этих изделий — 18 лет.
