W 2019 roku w Nepalu odnotowano około 3,6 miliona aktualnych użytkowników tradycyjnego bezdymnego tytoniu, przy rozpowszechnieniu wśród dorosłych na poziomie 18,3%. Stosowanie tych produktów było znacznie częstsze wśród mężczyzn i wynosiło 33,3%, podczas gdy wśród kobiet odsetek ten sięgał 4,9%. Codzienne używanie tradycyjnego bezdymnego tytoniu zadeklarowało 15,3% dorosłych, w tym 28,2% mężczyzn oraz 3,8% kobiet. Tradycyjny bezdymny tytoń jest legalny w Nepalu i podlega przepisom dotyczącym wyrobów tytoniowych. Dozwolona jest sprzedaż i używanie tych produktów, jak również zakupy przez internet. W Nepalu obowiązuje zakaz wszelkich form reklamy wyrobów tytoniowych, a na opakowaniach muszą znajdować się ostrzeżenia zdrowotne. Minimalny wiek uprawniający do zakupu to 18 lat.
