По состоянию на 2018 год в Мали насчитывалось примерно 19 100 человек, которые на данный момент используют традиционные бездымные табачные изделия. Общая распространённость текущего потребления этого продукта среди взрослых составляла 0,2%, однако среди женщин этот показатель достигал 1,3%. С точки зрения регулирования, традиционные бездымные табачные изделия разрешены и регулируются как табачная продукция в стране. Таким образом, их использование и продажа являются законными, однако онлайн-покупка не допускается. На упаковке требуется размещение предупреждений о вреде для здоровья, а также действует полный запрет на любую рекламу. Кроме того, установлен минимальный возраст для приобретения бездымного табака — 18 лет, что отражает усилия по ограничению доступа среди молодёжи.
