В Шри-Ланке действует строгая нормативная политика в отношении электронных сигарет и устройств для вейпинга: эти изделия запрещены. Согласно действующим правилам, продукты для вейпинга отнесены к табачным изделиям, а их продажа, использование, реклама, импорт (как для личного пользования, так и для торговли), а также онлайн-покупка этих товаров и никотина запрещены на территории страны. Такие ограничения затрудняют доступ людей, которые курят, к менее вредным альтернативам, если им не удаётся отказаться от курения, что увеличивает риск возникновения заболеваний, связанных с курением.
