Sri Lanka mantiene una postura regulatoria restrictiva respecto a los cigarrillos electrónicos y productos de vapeo, imponiendo una prohibición sobre estos productos. Conforme a estas regulaciones, los productos de vapeo se clasifican como productos de tabaco y está prohibida su venta, uso, publicidad, importación (tanto para consumo personal como para comercio), así como la compra en línea de estos dispositivos y de nicotina en el país. Estas medidas impiden que muchos fumadores accedan a alternativas menos nocivas cuando no logran dejar de fumar, lo que incrementa su riesgo de sufrir enfermedades relacionadas con el consumo de tabaco.
