По данным на 2010 год в Эритрее насчитывалось примерно 41 000 человек, которые в настоящее время используют традиционные бездымные табачные изделия. Общая распространённость среди взрослых составляла 2,2% — 11,6% среди мужчин и всего 0,1% среди женщин. Распространённость ежедневного употребления составляла 2%, при этом 10,8% мужчин и 0,1% женщин использовали бездымные табачные изделия ежедневно. Традиционные бездымные табачные изделия разрешены в Эритрее и регулируются как табачная продукция, поэтому их употребление и продажа легальны, а также разрешена покупка онлайн. Действует запрет на любую рекламу, а на упаковках обязательно размещаются предупреждения о вреде для здоровья. Минимальный возраст для покупки бездымных табачных изделий составляет 18 лет.
