W Mali odsetek osób palących tytoń wśród dorosłych w wieku 15 lat i starszych wyniósł w 2022 roku 6,3%, przy wyraźnej różnicy między płciami. Wśród mężczyzn odsetek palących był wyższy i wynosił 11,9%, podczas gdy wśród kobiet kształtował się na znacznie niższym poziomie – 0,6%. Dane te różnią się od wyników z wcześniejszych lat, na przykład w 2020 roku ogólny odsetek dorosłych palaczy był nieco wyższy i wynosił 6,6%, w tym 12,7% mężczyzn i 0,6% kobiet. Liczbę osób palących w Mali w 2022 roku oszacowano na 691 633. Zgony spowodowane paleniem stanowiły w 2021 roku 1,83% wszystkich zgonów w kraju, co oznacza 4 273 przypadki.
