W 2022 roku rozpowszechnienie palenia tytoniu wśród dorosłych w Mołdawii wynosiło 26,4% w grupie osób w wieku 15 lat i starszych, przy wyraźnej różnicy między płciami. Wśród mężczyzn odsetek palących sięgał 49,8%, podczas gdy wśród kobiet był znacznie niższy i wynosił 6%. Dane te wskazują na utrzymującą się tendencję do palenia, ponieważ ogólna liczba palących nieznacznie wzrosła z 24,5% w 2020 roku.
