Podgrzewane wyroby tytoniowe są regulowane jako nowe wyroby tytoniowe na mocy ustawy o wyrobach tytoniowych, jednak są zwolnione z przepisów dotyczących sposobu prezentacji i promocji, które odnoszą się do wyrobów tytoniowych. Dane zebrane w 2021 wskazują, że 2.6% osób w Mołdawia było użytkownikami HTP.
