Jamajka dopuszcza sprzedaż, zakup (w tym online i za pośrednictwem automatów), używanie oraz import papierosów. W kraju obowiązuje szereg restrykcyjnych regulacji: na opakowaniach wyrobów tytoniowych muszą znajdować się ostrzeżenia zdrowotne, sprzedaż dozwolona jest wyłącznie osobom od 18. roku życia, a także istnieją prawne ograniczenia dotyczące palenia tytoniu w miejscach publicznych. Całkowita stawka opodatkowania papierosów wynosi 39%. Według szacunków na rok 2023, w Jamajce było 214 100 aktualnych palaczy tytoniu. Odsetek dorosłych osób obecnie palących tytoń wynosił 9,5%, przy czym wśród mężczyzn było to 15,8%, a wśród kobiet – 3,5%. W 2021 roku odnotowano szacunkowo 1 300 zgonów przypisywanych paleniu tytoniu, w tym 929 wśród mężczyzn i 330 wśród kobiet. Oznacza to, że palenie tytoniu przyczyniło się do 5,19% wszystkich zgonów w kraju – 7,24% zgonów wśród mężczyzn oraz 2,89% wśród kobiet w tym roku.
