En Jamaica, se permite la venta, compra (incluyendo en línea y a través de máquinas expendedoras), uso e importación de cigarrillos. El país cuenta con varias regulaciones restrictivas: los empaques deben llevar advertencias sanitarias obligatorias, la venta está limitada a personas de 18 años o más, y existen restricciones legales sobre fumar en espacios públicos. El impuesto total aplicado a los cigarrillos es del 39%. En 2023, se estimaba que había 214,100 personas consumidoras actuales de tabaco. La prevalencia de consumo de tabaco entre adultos era del 9.5%, con un 15.8% entre los hombres y un 3.5% entre las mujeres. En 2021, se registraron aproximadamente 1,300 muertes atribuibles al consumo de tabaco, incluyendo 929 hombres y 330 mujeres. Esto indica que fumar fue responsable del 5.19% de todas las muertes a nivel nacional ese año —el 7.24% de las muertes masculinas y el 2.89% de las muertes femeninas.
