W 2020 roku w Cabo Verde było około 18 300 obecnych użytkowników tradycyjnego tytoniu bezdymnego. Ogólna częstość używania tradycyjnego tytoniu bezdymnego wśród dorosłych wynosiła 4,7 procent, przy czym była wyższa wśród kobiet (5,8 procent) niż wśród mężczyzn (3,5 procent). Częstość codziennego używania tytoniu bezdymnego wśród dorosłych wynosiła 3,6 procent, w tym 4,6 procent wśród kobiet i 2,6 procent wśród mężczyzn. Tradycyjny tytoń bezdymny jest dozwolony i regulowany jako produkt tytoniowy w Cabo Verde. Wprowadzanie tego produktu do obrotu handlowego jest legalne po uzyskaniu odpowiedniej licencji, podobnie jak jego sprzedaż. Obowiązuje jednak całkowity zakaz reklamy. Nie jest dozwolony zakup tradycyjnego tytoniu bezdymnego przez internet. Przepisy wymagają także umieszczania ostrzeżeń zdrowotnych na opakowaniach oraz wprowadzenia minimalnego wieku 18 lat przy sprzedaży tego produktu.
