Why does the GSTHR use "vaping product" as well as "e-cigarette"?

The term "e-cigarette" is widely recognised and commonly used in research, regulation and the media, so GSTHR uses it where appropriate. However, we generally prefer the term "vaping product" because it more accurately describes how these products work.

Unlike cigarettes, vaping products do not burn tobacco. Instead, they heat a liquid to produce an aerosol, avoiding the combustion that generates most of the toxic substances found in cigarette smoke.
