Según las últimas estadísticas disponibles, en 2016, Uganda contaba con aproximadamente 731,000 adultos que eran usuarios actuales de tabaco tradicional sin humo, lo que representaba el 3.7% de la población adulta. Su consumo era mayor entre los hombres, con un 4.6%, en comparación con el 2.9% entre las mujeres. El 2.8% de los adultos declaró un uso diario, incluyendo el 3.3% de los hombres y el 2.4% de las mujeres. Desde el punto de vista regulatorio, el tabaco tradicional sin humo está prohibido en Uganda y se regula como un producto de tabaco; por lo tanto, su venta es ilegal y existe una prohibición sobre toda forma de publicidad.
