Although no official statistics are available on the use of traditional smokeless tobacco in Ghana, the product is allowed and is regulated as a tobacco product in the country. Thus the use and sale of smokeless tobacco are legal, but buying the product online is not permitted. Also, there is a complete ban on advertising across all forms of media. Health warnings on packaging are required, and the product can only be sold to individuals aged 18 years or older.
