In Switzerland, Heated Tobacco Products (HTPs) are regulated as tobacco products and are allowed for sale and use excluding sales through online channels. These products are available in general retail stores. The law does not allow health benefit claims about these products and requires manufacturers to place health warning on their packaging. Notably, there are no restrictions on the flavours of HTPs.

Available data show an increase in the number of HTP users over recent year in Switzerland. The number of HTPs users increased from an estimated 206,000 adult people in 2022 to an estimated 248,000 adult individuals in 2025. This shows that the prevalence of HTP use increased from 2.8% in 2022 to 3.3% in 2025.
