As of 2019, Bhutan had approximately 55,600 current users of traditional smokeless tobacco, corresponding to an a prevalence rate of 10% among adults. The prevalence was notably higher among men at 14.3%, compared to 3.4% among women. From regulatory perspective, traditional smokeless tobacco is banned in Bhutan, and it is illegal to sell these products.
