В Тунисе по состоянию на 2024 год распространённость курения среди взрослого населения в возрасте 15 лет и старше составила 23,4%, при этом наблюдается значительная разница между мужчинами и женщинами: среди мужчин курят 45,6%, среди женщин — 2,3%. Эти данные показывают небольшое увеличение общей распространённости курения по сравнению с 2020 годом, когда этот показатель оценивался в 20,9%. Число курящих также возросло с приблизительно 1 964 464 человек в 2019 году до 2,2 миллиона в 2024 году. Смертность, связанная с курением, остаётся серьёзной проблемой для Туниса: в 2021 году из-за неё произошло 10,65% всех случаев смерти, в том числе специфический для мужчин показатель составил 15,28%, для женщин — 3,86%. В абсолютных цифрах количество смертей, связанных с курением, оценивалось в 11 047 в 2021 году: среди мужчин — 9 421 смерть, среди женщин — 1 625.
