В Непале, по оценкам, в 2024 году количество людей в возрасте 15 лет и старше, которые курят табак, составило примерно 3,1 миллиона, что отражает заметное снижение по сравнению с предыдущими годами. В 2019 году число курящих составляло примерно 4 009 204 человека. В 2024 году распространённость курения среди взрослых мужчин составляла 26,1%, а среди взрослых женщин — 5,2%. Это свидетельствует о значительном снижении по сравнению с 2019 годом, когда уровень распространённости был 33,0% среди мужчин и 8,1% среди женщин. Общий уровень распространённости курения среди взрослых в 2024 году составил 14,9% по сравнению с 20,5% в 2019 году. В 2019 году распространённость ежедневного курения среди взрослых оценивалась в 13,3%, при этом среди мужчин этот показатель составлял 20,7%, а среди женщин — 6,7%. Смертность, связанная с курением, составляла 11,13% всех случаев смерти в стране в 2021 году, при этом среди мужчин — 12,65%, среди женщин — 9,2%. Общее число смертей, обусловленных курением, в 2021 году достигло 28 110 — из них 17 869 среди мужчин и 10 241 среди женщин.
