В Монголии по состоянию на 2024 год распространённость употребления табака среди взрослых в возрасте 15 лет и старше составила 27,9%, при этом наблюдается значительный гендерный разрыв: табачные изделия курят 49,9% мужчин и 6,7% женщин. Это несколько выше показателей 2020 года, когда доля мужчин, употребляющих табачные изделия, составляла 47,1%, а женщин — 6,4%. Общее количество людей, употребляющих табачные изделия в 2024 году, оценивается примерно в 652 000, что больше по сравнению с 579 513 в 2020 году. Для сравнения, в 2017 году ежедневное употребление табака среди взрослых составляло 22,2%, в том числе 40,6% среди мужчин и 4,4% среди женщин. Согласно данным о смертности, связанной с курением, за 2021 год из-за последствий употребления табачных изделий умерли 2 691 человек, из них 2 294 мужчины и 397 женщин. Это составляет 12,51% всех случаев смерти в стране, причём влияние на мужчин более заметно (17,72% всех мужских смертей), чем на женщин (4,64% всех женских смертей). Эти данные подтверждают серьёзность проблемы для общественного здравоохранения в Монголии и подчёркивают необходимость постоянного мониторинга и регулирования в этой сфере.
