По состоянию на 2021 год распространённость текущего потребления традиционных некурительных табачных изделий среди взрослых женщин на Мадагаскаре составляла 1,2%. Доля взрослых, ежедневно использующих данный продукт, была особенно высокой — 29,7%, что свидетельствует о регулярном употреблении этого вида табака значительной частью потребителей. Традиционные некурительные табачные изделия разрешены на Мадагаскаре, поэтому их использование, продажа и покупка через интернет являются легальными. Вместе с тем предусмотрено обязательное размещение предупреждений о вреде для здоровья на упаковке, защищённой от детей, и установлен минимальный возраст для покупки — 18 лет. Кроме того, реклама некурительных табачных изделий запрещена, что отражает стремление ограничить распространённость табака.
