По состоянию на 2021 год в Индонезии насчитывалось примерно 2,0 миллиона взрослых, которые в настоящее время употребляют традиционные бездымные табачные изделия, что составляет 1% взрослого населения. Распространённость употребления этого продукта среди женщин была немного выше — 1,1%, по сравнению с 0,9% среди мужчин. Ежедневное употребление таких изделий встречалось реже: 0,5% среди взрослых (0,5% среди женщин и 0,4% среди мужчин). Традиционные бездымные табачные изделия разрешены в Индонезии и регулируются как табачная продукция. Продажа и употребление этих изделий разрешены, также допускаются онлайн-покупки. Тем не менее упаковка должна содержать предупреждения о вреде для здоровья, а минимальный возраст для покупки составляет 18 лет. Важно отметить, что не все виды рекламы этих изделий запрещены в стране.
