W 2021 roku w Indonezji było około 2,0 milionów obecnych użytkowników tradycyjnego bezdymnego tytoniu, co stanowiło 1% dorosłej populacji. Częstość używania tego produktu była nieco wyższa wśród kobiet (1,1%) niż mężczyzn (0,9%). Codzienne stosowanie było niższe – dotyczyło 0,5% dorosłych, w tym 0,5% kobiet i 0,4% mężczyzn. Tradycyjny bezdymny tytoń jest w Indonezji legalny i podlega regulacjom jako produkt tytoniowy. Sprzedaż i używanie tych produktów są dozwolone, a zakup przez internet jest również możliwy. Opakowania muszą jednak zawierać ostrzeżenia zdrowotne, a minimalny wiek umożliwiający zakup to 18 lat. Warto zauważyć, że nie wszystkie formy reklamy tych produktów są w kraju zakazane.
