По состоянию на 2024 год в Джибути насчитывалось примерно 47 000 взрослых, которые курят на данный момент. По данным за 2017 год, количество людей, курящих ежедневно, оценивалось в 61 000 человек, что составляет общий уровень ежедневного потребления табака в 9,9%, включая 18,6% среди мужчин и 1,1% среди женщин. В 2021 году смертность, связанная с курением табака, составляла 493 случая в год, что эквивалентно 5,3% всех смертей в стране. Из этого числа 408 умерших были мужчинами, а 85 — женщинами, что составляет соответственно 7,19% и 2,34% всех смертей среди мужчин и женщин. Сравнивая эти показатели с 2016 годом, можно отметить небольшое снижение общей доли смертей, связанных с табаком, с 8,94% до 5,3%. В частности, процент табачных смертей среди мужчин снизился с 10,5% до 7,19%, а среди женщин — с 3,9% до 2,34%. Эти данные подчёркивают актуальную проблему общественного здравоохранения, связанную с курением табака в стране, и отражают необходимость принятия мер по снижению вредных последствий потребления табачных изделий.
