W Malediwach podgrzewane wyroby tytoniowe są objęte ustawowym zakazem, który obejmuje ich import, sprzedaż, używanie oraz wszelkie formy reklamy. Ogólna stawka podatku na wyroby tytoniowe wynosi 200% wartości kosztu, ubezpieczenia i frachtu (CIF) wyrobów tytoniowych (z wyłączeniem papierosów) oraz akcesoriów służących do ich konsumpcji i jest naliczana w momencie importu.
