W Gambii statystyki dotyczące palenia tytoniu z 2022 roku dostarczają istotnych informacji na temat rozpowszechnienia tego nałogu i jego konsekwencji zdrowotnych. U dorosłych mężczyzn odsetek palących tytoń wynosił 18,1%, podczas gdy wśród kobiet był znacząco niższy i wynosił 0,4%. Ogólna częstość palenia wśród dorosłych wyniosła 9,1%, co świadczy o niewielkim spadku w porównaniu z poprzednimi latami – 13,1% w 2019 roku oraz 9,7% w 2020 roku. Liczba osób palących w wieku 15 lat i starszych w Gambii wyniosła w 2022 roku około 125 948, co stanowi niewielki spadek w porównaniu do 126 112 w 2020 roku i znaczniejszy w zestawieniu z 166 465 w 2019 roku.
