W Gambii terapia zastępcza nikotynowa (NRT) jest zakazana przez prawo, a jej produkty nie są regulowane jako wyroby medyczne ani nie znajdują się na krajowej liście leków podstawowych. W związku z tym sprzedaż preparatów NRT jest nielegalna. Nie jest również jasne, czy produkty te można sprowadzać do kraju na własny użytek, dlatego zaleca się posiadanie przy sobie recepty lub dowodu zakupu.
