W Republice Zielonego Przylądka według danych Światowej Organizacji Zdrowia (WHO) rozpowszechnienie palenia tytoniu wśród dorosłych w wieku 15 lat i starszych wynosiło w 2022 roku 7,4%, co stanowi spadek w porównaniu z 7,7% odnotowanymi w 2020 roku. Odsetek palaczy wśród mężczyzn w 2022 roku wynosił 12,2%, podczas gdy wśród kobiet było to 2,7%. Całkowita liczba osób palących tytoń w 2022 roku wyniosła około 29 810, wykazując nieznaczny spadek w porównaniu z 30 021 w 2020 roku. W 2020 roku codzienne palenie tytoniu deklarowało 4,9% dorosłych, w tym 8,4% mężczyzn i 1,3% kobiet. Jeśli chodzi o skutki zdrowotne, zgony spowodowane paleniem tytoniu stanowiły w 2021 roku 3,75% wszystkich zgonów w kraju, co odpowiadało 137 przypadkom.
