W Demokratycznej Republice Konga częstość palenia tytoniu wśród osób dorosłych w wieku 15 lat i starszych wyniosła według danych Światowej Organizacji Zdrowia (WHO) w 2022 roku 8,3%. Oznacza to nieznaczny spadek w porównaniu do 8,6% w 2020 roku. Palenie tytoniu było znacząco bardziej rozpowszechnione wśród mężczyzn (16,4%) niż kobiet (0,6%) w 2022 roku. Szacuje się ponadto, że liczba palaczy w wieku 15 lat i więcej wyniosła około 4,1 miliona w 2022 roku, co oznacza wzrost w porównaniu z około 3,9 miliona w 2020 roku. Dla porównania, w 2017 roku codzienne palenie tytoniu wśród dorosłych wynosiło 26,5% wśród mężczyzn i 4,1% wśród kobiet. Liczba zgonów przypisywanych paleniu tytoniu w 2021 roku wyniosła 15 232, z czego zdecydowaną większość stanowili mężczyźni (12 180) w porównaniu do kobiet (3 052). Zgony spowodowane paleniem tytoniu stanowiły 2,18% wszystkich zgonów w kraju, co wskazuje na spadek w porównaniu do 4,19% w 2016 roku.
