W 2021 roku w Burkina Faso było około 552 400 aktualnych użytkowników tradycyjnego bezdymnego tytoniu. Ogólna częstość używania tego produktu wśród dorosłych wynosiła 4,8%, przy czym występowała częściej wśród kobiet (7%) niż mężczyzn (2,6%). Odsetek dorosłych stosujących tradycyjny bezdymny tytoń codziennie wynosił 4%, w tym 6,1% kobiet i 1,8% mężczyzn. Tradycyjny bezdymny tytoń jest w Burkina Faso dozwolony i regulowany jako wyrób tytoniowy. Jego używanie i sprzedaż są legalne, jednak zakup przez internet jest zabroniony. Prawo nakłada obowiązek umieszczania ostrzeżeń zdrowotnych na opakowaniach, a sprzedaż objęta jest ograniczeniem wiekowym – produkt mogą nabywać jedynie osoby, które ukończyły 18 lat.
