En 2021, había aproximadamente 552,400 usuarios actuales de tabaco tradicional sin combustión en Burkina Faso. La prevalencia general de consumo actual entre adultos fue del 4.8 por ciento, con una prevalencia mayor en mujeres, del 7 por ciento, en comparación con el 2.6 por ciento en hombres. La prevalencia de consumo diario entre adultos fue del 4 por ciento, incluyendo un 6.1 por ciento en mujeres y un 1.8 por ciento en hombres. El tabaco tradicional sin combustión está permitido y regulado como producto de tabaco en Burkina Faso. Es legal usarlo y venderlo; sin embargo, no está permitida la compra en línea de este producto. La legislación exige advertencias sanitarias en los empaques y se aplica una restricción de edad mínima de 18 años para su venta.
