La venta, importación, registro como marca o patente y la promoción de los cigarrillos electrónicos están expresamente prohibidos por el decreto N.º 534/009 (2009) y su modificación N.º 299/017 (2017) en Uruguay. La tenencia y el uso no están contemplados en la legislación.
