En Libia, según los datos más recientes disponibles hasta 2009, aproximadamente 53,500 personas eran consumidoras actuales de tabaco sin humo tradicional. La prevalencia de uso en adultos era del 1.2%, con una diferencia significativa entre géneros: el 2.2% de los hombres consumía tabaco sin humo frente al 0.1% de las mujeres. El consumo diario alcanzaba el 0.7% en general y el 1.2% entre los hombres. Este producto está permitido legalmente y regulado como producto de tabaco. También es legal vender, consumir y comprar tabaco sin humo por internet. Existe una prohibición total de la publicidad y se exige la inclusión de advertencias sanitarias en los envases. La edad mínima legal para comprar es de 18 años.
