En 2017, aproximadamente 152,800 adultos en Burundi eran consumidores actuales de tabaco sin humo tradicional. La prevalencia de uso actual entre adultos fue del 2.7 por ciento. El tabaco sin humo tradicional está permitido y regulado como producto de tabaco en Burundi. Es legal vender y consumir este producto. Sin embargo, se exige la inclusión de advertencias sanitarias en el empaquetado y se aplica una restricción de edad mínima de 18 años para la venta.
