W 2017 roku około 152 800 dorosłych osób w Burundi używało tradycyjnych bezdymnych wyrobów tytoniowych. Odsetek dorosłych obecnie stosujących te produkty wynosił 2,7 procent. Tradycyjne bezdymne wyroby tytoniowe są w Burundi dozwolone i regulowane jako produkt tytoniowy – ich sprzedaż i używanie są legalne. Na opakowaniach wymagane są jednak ostrzeżenia zdrowotne, a sprzedaż tych produktów osobom poniżej 18. roku życia jest zakazana.
