Sudáfrica no cuenta con leyes específicas para los Productos de Tabaco Calentado (HTPs); sin embargo, estos se clasifican y regulan como productos de tabaco. Si bien está permitida la venta de productos de tabaco, es necesario contar con una licencia. Además, es obligatorio incluir advertencias sanitarias en los envases y la edad mínima para la compra es de 18 años. Está prohibido el uso de productos de tabaco en espacios públicos y su publicidad está prohibida por ley. No está claro si se permite la importación de productos de tabaco, incluidos los HTPs, para uso personal.
